Emily Somers, Global Director of Brand and Creative, Deliveroo

Emily has a career that spans both agency and client side. 

She began her career in creative agencies then went to the in-house creative team at the BBC. Later, after running the McDonald’s account for Leo Burnett she was invited to join the company as VP Marketing and Food Development. During her time at McDonald’s she led the brand through a period of unprecedented transformation of the customer experience and oversaw a renaissance of creative output, resulting in their highest ROI and record numbers of creative and effectiveness awards. 

After McDonald’s Emily went to Domino’s as CMO and had a stint running her own consultancy during covid. 

She joined Deliveroo in June 2021 as a maternity cover Marketing Director for UKI then moved to the global marketing team in 2022 as Global Director of Brand and Creative. 

Achievements in this role include launching Deliveroo’s new global positioning ‘connecting people, businesses and communities through a shared love of food’; a global brand campaign (for release in September) and the new brand identity.
