Peter Bates

Peter is the Global Head of In-House Agency at the global bank Citi. In 2024, he spearheaded the initiative to unify Citi’s global in-house creative capabilities under a single agency model. Prior to this pivotal role, Peter served as Head of Brand and Sponsorship for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, managing brand communications and strategic partnerships. His extensive marketing background at Citi includes diverse roles in Brand, Sponsorship, and Creative. Before transitioning to the client side, Peter honed his expertise within design and brand strategy agencies, working with clients including Ford Motor Company, Sky TV, and The Post Office. Peter brings a unique perspective to the in-house agency world, informed by his time spent in broader marketing roles combined with his previous creative agency background. Peter lives in London and holds an MA from Central St. Martin’s School of Art and Design.
